The Mission For My Life Is...

The mission for my life is to be a positive influence in the lives of others; through education and mentorship and to leave our community in a better condition for the next generations

Brenda Hayden is the 2019 President of the Charlotte Regional Realtors Association (CRRA), which represents more than 11,000 Realtors engaged in all areas of real estate, including residential and commercial sales, development, property management, appraisal, auctions and more. She is the first African American woman elected to the position, following a 18-year-career as a Realtor based in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Originally from Tallahassee, Florida, Hayden was one of four children raised in Boston, Massachusetts by a single mother whose drive to secure her family’s future planted the seeds for Hayden’s future career in real estate. Pearl’s pride in purchasing her first home left an indelible imprint, and fueled Hayden’s ambition for professional success.

After securing her bachelor’s degree in Business Administration in 1989 Hayden spent 12 years working in the insurance and credit finance industry, for companies including CitiFinancial and MetLife Insurance. Her personal passion for community development led her to shift gears toward the real-estate industry in 2001, after she had relocated from Boston to Charlotte.

During her early years in real estate, Hayden also earned a master’s degree in business management from Queens University Charlotte. Her expertise in negotiation and problem solving helped Hayden land positions as a Realtor with Mathers Realty, and currently a Broker with Keller Williams Realty

Hayden is a certified home-buyer counselor and a member of the Charlotte Crown chapter of the National Association of Real Estate Brokers (NAREB), America’s oldest minority trade association founded in 1947 to ensure that African-Americans and other minorities received fair treatment in all real estate transactions.  Through her work with both CRRA and NAREB, Hayden works with homeowners, buyers and investors to help them navigate the home purchase process, by ensuring that they make focused, well-informed decisions to increase net worth through real estate transactions.

A breast cancer survivor, Hayden is married James Hayden Sr. and has a daughter and a son, 3 stepsons and 9 step grandchildren. In her free time, she enjoys mentoring youth, community volunteering, hiking, reading and spending time with family.
