The Mission For My Life Is...
To be right with God. Live a joyful, balanced life. Be someone my friends, family and co-workers can depend on. Serve and help others.
Born in Florida to a military family, I lived in many different places, moving every 2-3 years during my childhood.
At 17 I graduated high school and decided it was time to move out and find my own way in this world. Working multiple jobs in restaurants everything from cooking to waiting tables, I did it all and was managing to making a decent living. My older brother, the only college graduate in our family encouraged me to go to college, so I applied and was accepted at Penn State.
In 1985 I found myself struggling as a Computer Science major, writing Fortran and Cobol programs when Microsoft Windows become a household product, and I decided to drop out of college. That year I got married and gave birth to my first daughter and moved to Georgia. I went back to work at my first true calling, restaurants.
For years I found myself working for The Atlanta Falcons at the training camp in Suwanee, GA. During this time, I also went back to school to earn a degree in Hotel, Restaurant and Travel Management with a culinary certificate from the Art Institute in Atlanta. I was blessed to meet many famous NFL professionals and some movie stars too. Paul Newman and Tom Cruise stayed at the inn while racing at Road Atlanta. One perk I miss is the season tickets for the Falcon games.
My next work home was The Standard Club in Duluth GA where I wore many hats from server to Assistant Food and Beverage Manager. The Standard Club is a private country club for many of Atlanta’s prominent society.
1995 brought the birth of my second daughter and in 1999 our family decided that Gwinnett County was getting a little to crowded for us and we decided to move to North Georgia. We purchased 10 acres surrounded by national forest, close to Tallulah Gorge.
It was then I decided to pursue a career in real estate. In 2000, I became licensed and was rookie of the year for both my company and my board. I love to learn and being new to the area and the real estate profession, I knew in order to succeed I needed every advantage I could get. Within 2 years I earned my 3 designations, ABR, CRS and GRI, became a fine homes specialist. Every year I was recognized as a multi-million-dollar producer and won numerous awards, including the education award 3 years in a row. I also served our local Realtor board in some way either on a committee or as an officer and in 2013 I served as board president. In addition to traditional sales, I worked with builders and developers planning and selling new home communities. Real Estate is one of the best investments a person can make. I have investment properties and I have a passion to educate others to create wealth thru real estate.
I have a heart and desire to help others and when I was introduced to Keller Williams, the WI4C2TS, culture and values, I knew it was the company where I belonged. My first BOLD in 2011 was eye-opening and changed my life. For many years I served on the ALC and helped manage the Demorest Business Center where I was associated. In 2018, the team leader position became available in our market center. I decided to apply and have been enjoying the challenge ever since. The ability to impact and help my agents on a high level is very rewarding. The team leader training is top-notch and being learning based, I love it.
I want to help people any way I can. I want to share how important thinking big is, setting goals, failing is ok…with others, especially young adults. By changing 1 life, it can be a small part to changing the world.
On a personal note, most of my “spending money” has gone to fund music and traveling. Music is a huge part of my life and love a live show. Most weekends you will find me at a concert, be it a at the local pub or a large venue. I have been blessed to have experienced some of finest musicians ever, from The Rolling Stones, Grateful Dead, Pink Floyd…the list is VERY long. I have been very blessed to have traveled to many places, making it a point to go to at least one place I have never been yearly. Much of this time has been near the ocean, from chartering my own sailboat and exploring the British Virgin Islands to building and owning a home in Roatan, Honduras. I still have a LONG list to go. I love books, have a red belt in Hapkido, an Indian Motorcycle names Stella and have always found peace in being outside surrounded by the natural beauty of this planet.
When I retire I plan on traveling and exploring the US with a camper for as long as I desire.
